Cattle Handling Events
As done last year, extra Saturday events are planned for this season that emphasize
cattle handling skills, not speed. These activities may include
Ranch Penning and Ranch Sorting type events which allow riders more
exposure with their horses among cattle. Riders with young horses
and anyone wishing to upgrade their 'cow sense' should consider
this a great opprtunity to improve. For anyone driving a distance,
basic camping is available for you and your horse if you wish to
stay for the regular Team Penning event on the Sunday. For more
information, contact Jeff or Cathy McCann at (613) 475-4793.
Cancellations
If it looks like rain phone (613) 475-4372 after 8:30 a.m. on the
morning of the event. A recorded message from Director Barb
Flindall will provide any cancellation details. Riders coming from a distance
are encouraged to call for up-to-date information as weather often
differs dramatically from area to area.
Club Schedule
EOTPA Penning Clinic
Register for the clinic on Saturday, May 31st now. If the first clinic sells out, EOTPA may offer a second clinic on Saturday July 19 for the next 21 people who send in registrations.
However, don't count on this. Register now for this fantastic session and get the Team Penning Basics or refresh yourself. Don't delay -- availability is limited. Registration forms were included with the membership forms sent
out in the February / March newsletter.
The clinic is designed for anyone wishing to improve skills and
'cow sense'. The clinic will run from 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Cost
with horse is $50.00 for members, $75.00 for non members. Please bring your lunch. Complimentary basic
camping is available on the grounds, for those wishing to arrive Friday evening and/or stay over for Sunday penning.
Send cheque and clinic registration forms to EOTPA c/o Cathy A.
McCann, 32 McCann Rd., Codrington, ON K0K 1R0. For further information, contact Cathy at (613) 475-4793.
